What You Will Need:

  • 2 triangles of fabric with a vertical height of 14" and width of 22"

  • 2 rectangles of fabric 14" by 2"

  • Lace trim (optional)

  • General sewing equipment

Here is video for extra help:

Method:

  • Take one of your rectangles of fabric to an ironing board and press it in half, widthways.

  • Open it back up and iron each side into the centre fold.

  • Fold one of the shortest edges over by 1/4".

  • Fold the entire rectangle in half once again.

  • Sew it closed to make your tie.

  • Repeat with your second rectangle.

  • Pin the raw side of the tie to one side of a triangle, 1/4" from the top.

  • Repeat with the other tie on the opposite side.

  • If you are adding lace trim, pin it around the edge of the triangle, with the scalloped edge facing inwards.

  • Pin your second triangle onto everything, right side facing down.

  • Sew around the tringles, but leave a small gap at the top.

  • Using that gap, turn the bandana right sides out.

  • Iron it flat, folding the seam allowance at the gap to the inside.

  • Oversew around the triangle, closing the gap.
