If you are not new here, you will know that I love crocheting items for the house. I also love crocheted flowers. That is why I have made these square crochet tulip stitch coasters. Not only are they convenient, but they also add a little spring touch to your home.
At the beginning of the month, I updated my crochet pattern for super simple coasters. These are perfect for a beginner. These crochet tulip coasters, however, are a little bit more difficult. However, once you get the hang of changing your yarn colour every few rows, they are very straightforward!
As always, I recommend using a cotton yarn for the very simple reason that it holds its shape beautifully and is also very durable - which you will need if you have a lot of hot drinks!
Materials:
cotton yarn in cream, green and two flower colours of your choice (I am using lilac and dark purple).
a 2.5mm crochet hook
scissors
a darning needle
Stitch Abbreviations:
dc: double crochet
htr: half treble crochet
tr: treble crochet
Pattern Notes:
This pattern is worked in UK terms, not US (you can find my post explaining the difference between the two terms here).
The chain 1 at the beginning of each row does not count as a stitch.

In the next corner, make 3 dc. (second corner)
Working along the second side, make 1 dc in each stitch.
In the next corner, make 3 dc. (third corner)
Working along the third side, make 1 dc in each stitch.
In the last corner, make 3 dc.
Slip stitch and fasten off. Cut your yarn and sew in all your ends.
Tip: I like to put my coasters under a pile of heavy books to flatten them. If you are using cotton, they keep their flat shape extremely well.
If you need to wash your coasters, hand wash them in lukewarm water.
And there you are! You now have your own crochet tulip coaster!
